Fall River Road via Central City

What would you do if you had a new lift and 35” tires on your rig?  You’d be ready to shred something right?  Were not talking one rig completely pimped out.  Were talking two Edge Heads that have been watching too much “Pimp My Ride” or at least too much “Tough Truck Challenge”!!!  Super Dave’s Cherokee grew like a monster in the span of a week and half.  It went from having 30” tires (which did pretty damn well mind you) to having 35” monsters!  Not to mention the lockers packed into the Dana 44’s and 3-Link setup in the front.  This setup included Hi-Steer as well as bulletproof links with Heim Joints all around. Definitely one of the nicest custom installations I’ve seen.  Of course Tracy couldn’t leave her Rubicon stock for very long (even though she couldn’t get it stuck)!  She couldn’t just put a lift on the Ruby, she had to go with the super bad ass Rubicon Express Long arm kit.  All the hardware is first class from the center skid plate, and beefy control arms to the sway bar disconnects.  All that suspension deserves 35” BFG Mudders to round out the package!  Leaving nothing out she mounted a brand new CB with a custom antenna permanently mounted to the side of the rig!  With all this equipment, we were ready to do some wheelin!

We met at the entrance to the Clear Creek canyon headed up to Black Hawk and Central City.  We played around the Cemetery climbing anything that looked fun!  We hit some moderately deep snow in the backcountry.  After progressing as far back as we dared we decided to turn around and look for other trails.  The turn around had about 2’ of fresh loose powder, which just gave a challenge!  We proceeded to take it back to the main hill behind the Cemetery.  There were some concrete slabs left over from the mining days just tall enough to challenge the new lifts.  Of course Artimus (AKA Captain Crunch)

couldn’t be left out the equation so just for braggin’ rights he stepped up the slab also.  The rest of the trip was completely cool on a nice and warm March Day!  We rapped the day up at Tommy Knockers knocking ‘em down Edge style!  Cheers, Chris…
