Well once again it was time for the annual Edge Fathers Day run. We held to the tradition and tackled Wheeler lake again this year. It was a beautiful day for some four wheeling, so we left town around 8:30 and headed down 285. When we got to Fairplay we took a hard right heading north towards Breckenridge. Just a few minutes later and we were on a dirt road for our staging point next to Montgomery Reservoir. The day was turning out great  with only a couple of other rigs going buy us. We hit the trail and head for the first obstacles.

Wheeler is a great trail for getting to some rocks early, there are several section that require careful tire placement and smart lines. Most of these obstacles have several different routes, so the trail can always offer something new. As spending some time on one of the more difficult rock section we decided it was time to eat some lunch and apply some sunscreen.

After lunch Art and Bo headed back since Art had taken some damage on the last obstacle and Bo & Deanna were going to follow him to make sure he got back alright. The rest of the group continued on but didn't get far. After only a mile or so down the trail we ran into some large snow drifts blocking the trail. We met the group that had passed us earlier and the had attempted it and spent the last 3 hours getting on of there own back out. So as tempting as it was we left the snow alone and returned the way we came.
