Memorial 2007
Big # 11
This year’s trip began with members arriving throughout most
of the afternoon and evening on Friday. The weather was great after the recent
snow- storm that moved through earlier in the week. We enjoyed a wonderful night
gathering around the campfire, and enjoyed some cold beverages as well as some
great wheelin’ stories! This year’s location was definitely one of the best
ever. With some of the most beautiful scenery in Colorado…
Saturday morning brought on a grand return to Slaughterhouse. This year’s
moisture equaled some wicked fun for The Edge crew! Even Super Bo earned an
“Uncle Warn Saved My Ass” sticker! Great trail, with plenty to remind you to
pick your lines carefully!!! Saturday evening, we put our mad grillin’ skills to
the test. Oh yea, the steaks were awesome as well as the barley pops! Smores
made a perfect dinner even better, especially for the kidos… With clear skies,
and a warm fire, it seemed like the night could have gone on forever!

Sunday took us back to an old favorite, the mighty China Wall. This time, to
prevent boredom, we decided to run it in reverse! Yea, we opened it up with the
monster hill climb. Rocky and rugged, it was every bit of what you might imagine
in reverse! With the peanut gallery in full force, we got cheers from all the
spectators watching the action. What a rush, the adrenaline glands really
brought us all to life on that one! I was proud of every rig in our group. Not a
single hang up straight to the top and through the squeeze. Even Daniel drove
Tracy’s Ruby through all the obstacles like a champ! As we proceeded, we saw
something that we had never seen before on this trail. A huge mud pit! By the
way it had a full sized Blazer with 39” swamper’s buried in it! With a double
uncle Warn operation, Brent and I were able to free the monster using Scott as
ballast! The sticker on his windshield said it best “Git-R-Done”! As the legend
Larry Heck used to say, that one was avoidable!!! Can wait ‘til next year!!!
Number 11 ranked up there with the best of ‘em without a question!!!
Cheers! Til’ Next time! Christopher…
